Haywards Heath Town Council owns four allotment sites in the Town. Two are managed by the Town Council (America Lane and Oathall Avenue), and independent allotment associations manage Vale Road and Summerhill Lane.

OUR ALLOTMENTS
ALLOTMENT FORUM
The Haywards Heath Allotment Forum is a free message board set up and maintained by allotments users. It is great for tips, news of issues affecting the allotment sites, details of social meetings and events and provides the opportunity to chat and exchange ideas with other gardeners. It allows you to post your own ideas and tips and share your gardening experiences with fellow allotment users.

Where are the sites?The Council is responsible for 4 sites in the area: America Lane and Oathall Avenue are managed directly; Vale Road and Summerhill Lane are managed by independent associations of plot holders.

Is there a waiting list?Yes, there are currently waiting lists on all sites. When you decide which site suits you best the Council will give you advice on how long you may have to wait.

How much will it cost me?At the two sites managed by the Town Council the maximum plot available initially is 2.5 rods which will cost £15.60 per year. A discount of 50% is offered to senior citizens, or if you are in receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance. Proof of age or benefit entitlement will be required before the discount is applied. Rents at the other two sites are set by the independent associations.

How big is the plot?New applicants will be offered half-size plots of 2.5 rods each. You can then go back on the waiting list for another 2.5 rod plot. The maximum size of any plot for one household is 5 rods.
